HIDDEN CREEK RANCH

ESTABLISHED 2023

Logo Design: Part I

For this project, the client came to me after purchasing a 10-acre property in the greater Tampa area in Florida. Their intention was to create an all-in-one recreational campground for friends and family to come and enjoy. The initial logo design was meant to be evocative of the untouched nature found in places like Montana and Wyoming, where the wildlife roam free and creeks peacefully run.

The design was to be placed on flags around the property, as well as adorn shirts, blankets, and posters.

Logo Design: Part II

After the initial logo design, the client realized they wanted something a little simpler and more emblematic of the area they were in. This logo would be emblazoned on hats, adorn glassware around the property, and be carved into signs to mark each unique cabin on the property, so simplicity and readability from a distance was paramount.

One element the client wanted to include was the Long Horn Steer, which roam on the bordering farmland and often stop by for visits and snacks. I decided to make that the central visual component of the logo, given its defined and recognizable silhouette. A creek runs through the center of the steer’s head, serving as both texture and a sly reference to the campground’s namesake.

The text was adjusted to be “bold but classy,” as the client suggested, so I went with a serif font that’s easy to read from a far distance. The wording is curved around the steer’s head to give the logo a clean, rounded shape, which would look good on social media posts (and profile pics), hats, shirts, cutting boards - you name it.
